• Thruhiker Hikertrash

    Kodak

Born in the Eastern world of Pennsylvania, but exploring the West on foot, by bike and car for the last decade. Competed in top archery contests as a teenager. Loves cooking outside and reading on his Kindle. Can often be seen with a camera, hence trail name “Kodak”.

  • Thruhiker Woman

    Cinnamon

Born in Belgium, but lost her heart to the continent of North-America. Admirer of little things and moments of peace, found in nature. Loves a good pity-party when she’s hungry or tired. Always wears a smile on her face. Sweet-tooth and listener of rock & roll music, hence trail name “Cinnamon”.

… was in July 2021, somewhere on the Pacific Crest Trail. We both started out solo on our SOBO hike and soon ended up walking together for the remainder of the journey. After three months, forest fires drove us off the trail and we ended up on the Oregon Coast Trail. After hiking the coast, we rented a 4x4 and started road-tripping our way up South, exploring the southwestern desert and parks. In November, we drove the rental car East to Pittsburgh and celebrated Thanksgiving with Ryan’s family.

International couple shenanigans

Due to visa limitations, Cinnamon was forced to leave the U.S. But being separated didn’t sit well, so we decided to move in together… in Ryan’s Dodge campervan.

In April 2022, Cinnamon flew back to the U.S. and we started living on the van together. Traveling took us all over the Wild West up into Canada. There, we would spend our late summer hiking the Great Divide Trail.

After the Great Divide Trail, we got married in a little white chapel in Las Vegas. If you still love each other dearly after such an endeavor, it is simply meant to be.

Once again, Cinnamon’s visa expired and so the two of us packed our bags and spent the winter of 2022/2023 in Belgium. Since staying in one place is not our forté, we left for Portugal to hike the Rota Vicentina, and this summer, you can find us somewhere above the Arctic Circle.
